They’re upset over an ultimatum from the health department.
Workers are being told to either get the swine flu vaccine or lose their jobs.
New York is the first state in the country to mandate flu vaccinations for its health care workers. The first doses of swine flu vaccine will be available beginning next week. Much of it is reserved for state health care workers, but there is growing opposition to required innoculations.
Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed “No forced shots!” as they rallied Tuesday against the state regulation requiring them to roll up their sleeves.
“I don’t even tend to the sick. I am in the nutrition field. They are telling me I must get the shot because I work in a health clinic setting,” said Paula Small, a Women, Infants and Children health care worker.
Small said she will refuse, worried the vaccine is untested and unproven, leaving her vulnerable. In 1976, there were some deaths associated with a swine flu vaccination.
Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights.
“And now I will lose my job if I don’t take the regular flu shot or the swine flu shot.”
When asked if he’s willing to lose his job, Mannino said, “Absolutely. I will not take it, will not be forced. This is still America.”
The protest also shook Albany Tuesday. Hundreds of demonstrators demanded freedom of choice. After all, as health care professionals they argue they’re already constantly washing their hands and aren’t likely to transmit or contract the flu.
Around 500,000 health care workers are slated to receive the vaccine.
“It’s certainly their prerogative to voice their opinion,” said Dr. Susan Donelan of Stony Brook University Hospital.
Donelan said most in the medical community see the benefits and safety of the shots and welcome them, and that hospitals must obey the law.
“Our hospital is committed to following the mandate to have our personnel vaccinated,” she said.
The state said change was needed this year to save lives, typically only about 45 percent of health care workers take advantage of voluntary flu vaccines.
More than 150 institutional outbreaks of seasonal and H1N1 flu are expected this year in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers.
New York and New Jersey will get their first doses of the swine flu vaccine next week. It will be the nasal mist, not a shot.

I am a health care worker and I have never taken the flu vaccine ever and have not had the flu. I think it is an outrage and against our civil rights to be forced to put anything in our bodies that we do not want to put it . What will be next? We as a society have to come together as one to continue to keep our rights as an American . There is power in numbers. So instead of being scared and worried about the future get together and fight the good fight to keep our rights alive. Stop letting them create fear to control you !!

Requiring anyone to take a vaccine against one’s will is intolerable. This is the final straw which hopefully will wake people up. Anyone with a background in biological science has to know that these vaccines will not work to protect anyone but will put many people at risk.

People should be outraged when a health care facility says they are obligated to follow the state’s mandate…….why don’t they do some simple research….they will find vaccines do not provide immunity….they in fact have been designed to create disease!

how about this now.. they are gonna use our military as experiments too. Sure why not , if they have to take it we all will have to take the damn vaccine . The government is not stupid people…. who knows that else they will mandate.

Actually, that is how the real “testing process” is set up–these useless vaccines and dubious drugs are always tested on the military–before the FDA gives them officious blessings…
Although it’s never therapeutic efficacy…just marketable pharmaceutical “product” (you know like “push the product” type product).
Very simple really…how would you “bump off” a couple of billions of unnecessary surplus humans over several generations–and it the most cost-efficient controlled way???…

These flues are not so deadly as to mandate forced vaccinations. Doctors aren’t getting it because they’ve adopted a wait and see policy. They should be setting the example, yet they are not. Richard F. Daines,is waiting in line? He should be setting the example. Its unconstitutional especially when these Flues (H1N1 included) are not that deadly. Forced vaccinations are draconian and prove the people in charge are irresponsibly forcing nurses and health workers to quit with their hegemonic dogma. If Richard F. Daines, M.D was so compassionate about the patients “coming first” he would have had the vaccination done immediately and have all doctors required to get it, to set an example. Why are doctors exempt?

These “healthcare professionals” have been promoting these “virus” and “flu” hoaxes, along with the absurd “vaccination immunity” hoaxes for decades, and its solely to make money.
Now they’re getting a taste of their own medicine. They’re being forced to take those “immunity-building vaccinations” themselves …which they have known all along are nothing but toxic poisons.

Janitors, subway workers, insurance agents, burger manufacturers, paper-pushers, public baby-sitters, etc.–everyone from the middle-class on downwards will be targeted…
And, once this major precedent has been established–then it will be year after year…for multiple mandatory eugenics jabs..
