Channel’s 9-11 documentary a farce; real debate proposed

The History Channel has delved into 9-11 with a new documentary, 9-11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction, that seems to have a built-in “structural failure.” Thus, it cannot break new ground of any consequence toward truth or justice, as it largely supports the government’s conspiracy theory.
Viewing it Oct. 18 was an unsettling experience. Many people in the documentary from “both sides” say many things about the events of 9-11-01 that undoubtedly vary in their factual basis, but ideally everything should be sorted out by a new, genuine investigation. The NYC CAN 9-11 plan for New Yorkers to vote for a new probe failed to make the ballot, so some new ideas are needed for now.
It’s clear that History Channel programmers understand that it is not so much a matter of who says what about 9-11; rather, it’s a question of how to structure the program in order to fashion it as a barricade against free inquiry and ward off a new probe, under the disguise of open inquiry.
The key thing about this documentary is that anyone referred to with the word “expert” is either a believer in the government’s theory, a skeptic of the 9-11 truth movement or both. Therefore, all those who question the government’s conspiracy theory, regardless of the credibility of their statements, are referred to as “conspiracists” (which is not really a word in the strict sense) Or they are portrayed as mere theorists, or referred to by occupation, but never as “experts.” The propaganda function is served by this inherently biased structure.
When former Brigham Young University physics professor Steven Jones is first shown – the one whose research indicates the presence of explosives in the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center – his name was not even flashed on the screen, let alone that he is a physicist. And Jones’ claims, those of theologian and well-known 9-11 author David Ray Griffin, Professor Jim Fetzer and several others are each “refuted” by what is shown onscreen as an “expert response,” when what is actually happening is a slanted debate that should be openly conducted in person without documentary producers stacking the deck.
Thus, this column is offered as the first step in an earnest request that can and should be sent to the History Channel. The proposal here is that the producers of the History Channel’s 9-11 documentary round up their show’s experts, including the chaps from Popular Mechanics magazine, and bring them to a real, in-person, televised debate at a physical location, casting aside the contrived format in which “the final word” and the nametag “expert” is lopsidedly given to those who tend to side with the government’s story of 19 men, using box cutters, taking over four large jetliners and flying them thousands of miles with the greatest of ease, obliterating two 110-story buildings with fire and gravitational collapse alone while ramming one of the jets — below treetop level at more than 500 miles per hour, mind you — into the side of the Pentagon without any defensive intervention by history’s most sophisticated military command center. Yeeeeaaaaahhhh!!
And by the documentary’s own claim, this Pentagon attack totally obliterated two massive jet engines, both wings and a 44-foot tall tail section – all without disturbing the lawn. No seats. No bodies. No nothing, other than small, shiny “tinfoil” remnants alleged to be actual plane wreckage. Indeed, the Pentagon part of 9-11 needs much more investigation, since the World Trade Center gets the vast majority of press coverage and scientific analysis, even though a direct, successful attack on the Pentagon – an actual government institution, run by the military – is harder to understand than three WTC buildings which are important but were not the actual nerve center of the American military itself.
Moreover, the 47-story World Trade Center Building 7 that collapsed into its own footprint more than six hours after the towers were decimated was known to have city and federal government assets and served as New York’s emergency command center, yet it came down uniformly in about seven seconds even though it was not hit by a plane. Poof! The critically important equipment, documents and other assets used by authorities on certain floors in WTC 7 were destroyed. Their seizure, in a proper crime scene investigation that never happened, could have cleared up a lot of questions about what took place on 9-11-01.
With a debate needed, there is no need to ramble on here. So, let’s consider how the History Channel’s “experts” and 9-11 citizen-activists, including their experts, would fare in a real debate. This column ought to be forwarded to a host of activists, some of whom this reporter has interviewed over the years. And through AFP, RBN and other means it is suggested that this article be forwarded to the History Channel; or, better yet, a letter inspired by this article could be sent to the History Channel by a coalition of 9-11 groups and other interested individuals. Group affiliation is not mandatory, of course.

While reading an article of George Monbiot’s, I became aware of his use of sarcasm, put-downs and a trend towards marginalization as his main method to counter the many who dare to question the “the White House version” of events around the 9/11 World Trade Centre project.
Some points that are not mentioned by Monbiot and yet are points considered as highly suspicious by those who have taken the time to do some investigation and research into the 9/11 WTC project are as follows:
1.) The White House claims it had no prior knowledge of an air strike planned for the WTC towers. However, Israeli, German, Russian intelligence and a jailed American agent in Canada admitted to giving prior warnings to the American Intelligence department. Why were these numerous and valid warnings ignored?
2.) The CIA tracks incidents of unusual stock trading about the global markets. There was an increase of 600 per cent in put options placed on American and United Airlines just five days prior to the 9/11 WTC project…indicating prior knowledge and possible complicity. Yet, no stock traders have been held to task, interrogated and convicted. Why not??
3.) The Bin Laden theory was placed immediately before the public via the television and newspapers…yet, the fourteen members/relatives of the Bin Laden family that were residing in the United States were flown out of the US under national security, meanwhile no Americans were allowed to use the friendly skies to complete their own personal or business affairs. Why, if the Bin Laden conspiracy theory were true,were the Bin Laden family members and friends not held and questioned/interrogated as to Bin Laden’s where-abouts…as he had recently attended a family wedding in the Middle East?
4.) Regarding the theory that the three buildings of the World Trade Centre came down due to being hit by American and United Airlines planes…ie: the burning fuel heat supposedly caused the steel beams to collapse.
Firstly, the construction manager of the World Trade Centre was interviewed on television. He stated that the towers were “constructed to take multiple hits from incoming airlines…just like pencils being stuck into a screen door”.
Secondly, demolition experts were reported to laughingly reply that if buildings could be brought down so easily and perfectly by airplanes …there would be no need for demolition teams to use electronically detonated explosives.
Thirdly, three firemen were quoted on camera describing how they witnessed the twin towers (buildings five and six) coming down while explosions were going off, “boom, boom, boom” ,floor by floor…”just like in a demolition”.
Fourthly, Larry Silverstein (the lease owner of the World Trade Centre) was asked in a television interview just how it was that WTC building number seven which was not hit by any plane, also happened to completely implode (as buildings do when being demolished by electronically set explosives), Mr. Silverstein replied that “due to fire damage we decided to ‘pull it’”. Now Mr. Silverstein used the term ‘Pull It’ which is lingo for ‘immediately demolish a building by electronically detonating pre-set explosives’. The interviewed firefighters also reported on camera that they were told around 3 pm to vacate building seven because it was going to be demolished or ‘pulled”… which was the case around 5pm.
The point here is that the electronic detonators and explosives would of necessarily been wired up weeks before the actual WTC 9/11 project. Demoliton experts do not go into burning buildings to set up intricate explosive networks.
The final overlooked and ignored point regarding the collapse of these buildings is that http://www.guerrillanews.com/forum/thread.php?id=186 Kevin Ryan (an engineer who works in the field of steel constructed buiding technology) states that no steel structured building throughout the world has ever collapsed due to fire heat. HIs assertion is that the heat of airplane fuel is not enough to bend steel. Yet, we are faced with the outrageous theory put forth by the White House that all three WTC buildings imploded perfectly and were dramatically demolished by airplane fuel heat… without any electronic detonation team expertise.
Instead we are also told, a few poorly trained Cessna flight school students (who incidently were under the eye of the FBI for quite some time and yet somehow dodged the FBI surveillance at the crucial time period) somehow forget their Al Qaeda handbooks in their vehicles at the airport and then during the flight overcome a handful of passengers and flight attendents with some box-cutters, and proceed to maneuver these huge airplanes with the skill of a trained pilot into two tall World Trade Centre buildings at top speed!!
5.) ‘Al Qaeda’ is a creation of the Central Intelligence Agency. Prior to September 11, 2001, reports revealed that when Al Qaeda members without proper visa and travel documentation were detained at the US borders, CIA and FBI agents were sent to usher them through. Al Qaeda members unknowingly had FBI agents as landlords. Al Qaeda members were unknowingly under the auspices of the CIA…as Pakistan Intelligence is an ally of American Intelligence…Pakistan Intelligence would also take its directives from the CIA. On the day prior to and during the World Trade Centre project the head of Pakistani Intelligence was meeting with the head of US Central Intelligence. A member of Pakistani Intelligence was found to have been the ‘money-man’ who wired one hundred thousand dollars to Mohammed Atta (one of the supposed Al Qaeda members involved with the WTC project). If Al Qaeda is monitored, infiltrated, funded and directed by Pakistan and American Intelligence agents then just what is going on??
6.) The New York/Pentagon region is the most thoroughly protected airspace on the planet. Billions of tax dollars support an intricate network of airforce bases and their air protection technology. Under American Federal Flight Regulations jet fighters must immediately be scrambled (sent out to reinforce security) when any air flight is not responding to flight tower procedures and queries. Years earlier, airforce jet fighters were sent out and within twelve minutes located and grounded golf-pro Payne Stewart’s jet because everyone aboard had died of asphyxiation and the jet was suddenly a flyiing threat and danger. So, the point here is “where were the airforce jet fighters?” We are supposed to believe that the most thoroughly protected airspace on the planet was having a ‘bad hair day’! We even find that the commander of the region’s airforce received a promotion, not a dismissal, for his service during the 9/11 WTC project.
Another amazing coincidence is that on the morning of the 9/11 WTC project, under the auspices of Dick Cheney, the airforce of the entire region is performing a mock terrorist drill involving a hijacked airplane!!! The US airforce is coincidentally unable to distinquish between real and mock events?!
7.) A more recent phenomenon of the “unofficial investigation” is that evidence of ‘thermate’ had been found at the base of the WTC towers. By a kind of chemical reaction Thermate is used to melt through steel support beams. There is a team of experts in this field performing their own research and investigation. Their findings are also ‘coincidentally’ ignored by mainstream press.
8.) We are told by Monbiot to ignore the basement janitor of the WTC who saw, heard, and felt the blasts of explosions in the basement level of his particuliar twin tower. The basement janitor claims these explosions were separate and unrelated to the plane hitting the tower above. There are websites which show the seismic readings on the morning of the World Trade Centre project…corroborating these statements by the janitor. These readings indicate a series of explosions occurred after the towers were hit by the airplanes. These are not spoken of in the ‘official 9/11 commission’s report”. We are told to ignore the firemen because they are not ‘experts’. And we are told to ignore Stephen Ryan’s expertise in his field of work.
Much is ignored in Monbiot’s article, yet we are expected to believe the ‘official version of 9/11′ which involves believing a whole series of inexplicable coincidences. So, who has the most outrageous conspiracy theory…the White House or those hundreds of thousands of citizens who continue to question and investigate?
Yes, Monbiot has an important point that the Bush government is not being held accountable for many distrastrous policies…global warming is unavoidably going to bring havoc to the entire globe; the unforgiveable use of depleted and non-depleted uranium in the missile tips used throughout the Middle East wars-for-oil-supremacy; the allowing of US Administration to use known falsified evidence in order to manufacture the consent of the US public to war on Iraq; to minimize environmental standuards in the US resulting in further contamination of soil, air and water; and of course the increasing gap between the few rich and the expanding numbers of poor Americans.
However, let us not go so far as to blame those many hundreds of thousands of sincere truth seekers of using the search for truth regarding the 9/11 WTC project as an excuse to avoid social action in other important areas of concern. For if the WTC project was a false flag terror op used to garner the support of the American public to support the Middle Eastern wars for supremacy in the oil industry…then that would be worth knowing would it not?
As far as the argument goes that the project ‘must have involved thousands of people if the US Administration was complicit’…and how come none of these people have spoken up…My guess is that loss of career, assassination, threat, and financial ruin are generally enough for most people to remain silent. Reports of firemen, FBI and CIA agents being muzzled are there for those who investigate. Mysterious deaths are hard to link up without well supported investigations. When the political will is not in support of proper investigation … complicity is suggested.
A friend recently suggested that “motive” must be considered in the case of the WTC 9/11 project.
a) A year prior to the WTC project the American Administration was in negotition with the Afghani Taliban to build an oil pipeline from the Caspian Oil region through Afghanistan to the coast. The Taliban refused the terms and the oilagarchs said “its either a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs”. Besides being the largest producer of the multi-billion dollar opium/heroine industry, Afghanistan (now under corporate American control) has built the oil pipeline which transfers billions of dollars worth of crude yearly.
b) Besides the controlling the profits of the global opium/heroine drug trade, these corporate executives grant their own affiliated corporations the billion dollar weapons/war contracts. See any motive yet?
c) Dick Cheney is a former corporate executive on the payroll of Halliburton Co. which is now receiving uncontested contracts in the axis-of-oil region of Afghanistan and Iraq.
d) The Bush family is still a large shareholder in the Carlisle Group, which is a large conglomerate dealing in the oil industry as well as the weapons manufacturing industry. The Bin Laden family also was a large shareholder until surprisingly they pulled out immediately after the events of September 11, 2001.
e) ‘A never-ending war on terror’ means a never-ending wave of profits for those corporate executives and their affiliates who are addicted to the spoils of war.
f) And finally, we are told by the White House that the reason the Al Qaeda supposedly took out the WTC buildings was because “they don’t like us in the free world”. Meanwhile, Afghanistan and Iraq are pummelled by radio-active tipped missiles that seem to serve the motives of corporate politicians rather than an angry Saudi on kidney dialisis held up in some cave in Afghanistan.

Man, great points! — from the writer. Imagine a real debate, just like the BBC sponsored between Warren Commissioners and JFK critic Mark Lane back in the 1960s, which forced the govt to back up its story at least a little bit. Nowdays, they just recite any old tired BS and it often sticks.

They will bemoan deaths of the Iraqis ’cause they know it doesn’t hurt Americans too much.
That 9/11 was THE MOTHER OF THE WHOLE FUCKING WAR ON TERROR doesn’t count for these fine gents.
