THE INSANITY OF OBAMA’S ARIZONA POLICY (OR UNVETTED ILLEGALS LET LOOSE ON AMERICAN CITIZENS)

If I understand the Obama adminstration’s lawless response to Arizona’s illegal alien policy, it is that it will no longer pick up illegal immigrants from local authorities unless they have a serious criminal record.
Administration officials, speaking on condition they not be named, told reporters they expect to see an increase in the number of calls they get from Arizona police — but that won’t change President Obama’s decision to limit whom the government actually tries to detain and deport.
“We will not be issuing detainers on individuals unless they clearly meet our defined priorities,” one official said in a telephone briefing.
The official said that despite the increased number of calls, which presumably means more illegal immigrants being reported, the Homeland Security Departmentis unlikely to detain a significantly higher number of people and won’t be boosting personnel to handle the new calls.
“We do not plan on putting additional staff on the ground in Arizona,” the official said.
The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Arizona may not impose its own penalties for immigration violations, but it said state and local police could check the legal status of those they have reasonable suspicion to believe are in the country illegally.
That means police statewide can immediately begin calling to check immigration status — but federal officials are likely to reject most of those calls.
Federal officials said they’ll still perform the checks as required by law but will respond only when someone has a felony conviction on his or her record. Absent that, ICE will tell the local police to release the person. Read more….
Let’s look at this logically. The illegal immigrant, by entering this country illegally is already predisposed to breaking the law. Additionally, illegal immigrants tend not to have driver’s licenses, car insurance, or social security numbers. That shows further disdain for the law. Even if you want to dismiss that notion, what do we know about their criminal record in Mexico?
These aliens have not undergone a background check and unless a Mexican agency has formally asked American officials to arrest someone, there is no reliable way for local law enforcement officials to know the foreign criminal record of the person they have in custody. After all, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Savador are third world nations where centralized and computerized criminal record keeping is limited to non-existent.
Yet the Obama administration will not detain an alien from Arizona unless they have a felony record.
In other words, the Obama policy is as follows:
Until an American citizen has been robbed, raped, or murdered by a particular illegal immigrant, will we not deport or arrest them.
Think about the insanity of this approach. Our government will not deport a foreign national who has entered the United States illegally, without any background check, unless and until they commit an egregious crime in the United States.
Who are these illegals and what is their criminal record in Mexico? Washington and Obama just don’t care…until they wreak havoc here.
Here is a perfect example of this policy in action.
The Virginia man suspected in a drunken-driving crash that killed a Catholic nun in Prince William County this weekend is an illegal immigrant and repeat offender who was awaiting deportation and whom federal immigration authorities had released pending further proceedings, police said Monday.
Carlos Montano, a county resident, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving. Mr. Montano had been arrested two other times on drunken-driving charges, and on at least one of those occasions county police reported him to federal authorities.
“We have determined that he is in the country illegally. He has been arrested byPrince William County Police in the past, said police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
He said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified at the time of one of those arrests. “At the time of this incident, the accident yesterday, he was in the deportation process and was out on his recognizance for court proceedings.” Read more….
And, here is another example of this approach from the past:
If Luciano Melendres had been deported to Mexico following his 2006 arrest for driving drunk – or even if a judge last week hadn’t suspended his six-month jail sentence and given him 12 months probation – Dacus Lamont Sims, 32, would be alive today.
As it is, Melendres is back in jail for a second offense, this time charged with DWI, felony hit-and-run, driving with a license revoked, not having insurance and a registration violation, the Charlotte, North Carolina, Observer reported.
Sims, who was hit while crossing a Charlotte street earlier this week, died at the scene.
Melendres continued to a friend’s home and was found because a driver who saw the accident followed his car and contacted police. The illegal alien, who has lived and worked in North Carolina for at least 13 months, denied involvement when questioned by officers.
“Why do they let this man constantly drive?” asked Joset Sims, the victim’s sister. “If this gentleman is an illegal immigrant, and he was charged with DWI, why did they not deport him?” Read more….
Well Miss Sims, the answer is he hadn’t killed anyone yet.
Kill an American and finally, you will get deported. That is all it takes for Washington to act. That, is Washington’s, now officially stated policy. Persons, who underwent no background checks to enter America will be free to roam until they rob, rape, pillage, or murder.
Obama and all who support his policies have just declared war on the citizens of this country. |
