Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard had tough questions for Defense Secretary James Mattis on Trump’s statements regarding a possible strike in Syria over an alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma. Citing specific excerpts from the United States Constitution that would require authorization from Congress to declare war on Syria, Gabbard pressed Mattis to justify the President’s statements about a strike. She also cited the illegal strike of a Syrian airfield that took place a year ago in response to chemical weapons that were used in an attack in the city of Idlib.
