‘Everything Is At Stake’: Pro-2A Group Battles Weapons Ban In This U.S. Town
The gun-grabbers in this town are in for a real fight.
The Board of the village of Deerfield, Illinois voted unanimously in favor of an amendment to its gun ordinance to restrict ‘assault weapons’ back in April.
The law is about to take effect and those that don’t willingly surrender certain semi-automatic firearms such as AR-15s could face fines of up to $1,000 per day as well as have their guns confiscated. Law enforcement officers, current or retired, are exempt from the ordinance.
Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director Richard Pearson explained on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday that the town wants to ban firearms such as the AR-15 rifle and other high-capacity magazines.
“It’s a direct violation of state law, not to mention the Second Amendment,” Pearson said, noting that the state’s Concealed Carry Act passed of[sic] 2013 preempted local ordinances from such bans.
He said that the town has decided not to answer to the federal or state governmentregarding the ban.
“Right now we’re looking for a temporary restraining order to prevent this from happening,” Pearson said, adding that the ban goes into effect June 8.

Pearson said that the new law is a ‘slippery slope’ that allows for the confiscation of weapons violating both the Second Amendment as well as state law.
Pearson said that ‘everything is at stake’ and that, ‘We will fight this all the way to the Supreme Court without question.

Not submitting to federal law under this administration isn’t a good idea.
If they’re so keen on violating state law, mayhap anyone walking onto private property to confiscate guns should be charged with trespassing.
Go ahead gun-grabbers — let’s see where this goes.
Wouldn’t that be one heckuva Supreme Court ruling, though?
Maybe it should go all the way up to the highest court in the land.
