Lockdown Snitches Get SNITCHED On

There’s a saying that’s been around for decades: “Snitches get stitches.”

The saying basically means that people who snitch on others—especially those involved with organized crime—often find themselves on the business end of a sharp object or high-velocity projectile.

However, snitches aren’t just a problem in organized crime. They’re looked down upon by most of the world, criminal or legitimate. It’s been collectively agreed upon that a snitch has no honor.

Snitching goes against the VERY core of the conservative’s belief system. Our ideology is simple: You do you and I’ll do me, and as long as you’re not harming me and I’m not harming you, we should each mind our own business.

Conservatives just want to be left alone, and we’ll generally do the same to others. We believe that your life is YOUR life, and as long as the decisions you make aren’t infringing on our rights or anybody else’s, you should do what makes you happy.

For that reason, conservatives tend not to be snitches…

That doesn’t mean it’s exclusively the realm of the Left, but it means that people on the Right tend to keep to themselves.

Snitches Get Stitches, And Rats Sleep In Gutters

Snitches can make life unbearable, and some residents of St. Louis have been finding this out firsthand.

See, St. Louis County, MO, has a website where more than 900 snitches tattled on people and businesses for violating lockdown orders and social distancing guidelines, resulting in 29 businesses receiving citations.

But while these “quarantine snitches” reveled in their ability to stop people from conducting their lives, becoming a real-life version of the Fun Police, they seem to have forgotten that, in order to snitch on these people, they had to fill out a form with their names and contact information…

These forms included a warning that their own information COULD be made public due to what’s called the Sunshine Law.

Maybe if they would have read the fine print, they’d have thought twice about ratting out their friends and neighbors. There are some pretty resourceful people out there, and many of them wanted to even the score.

Enter Jared Totsch…

Totsch is just a regular Joe who used that law to request the information of those who had complained or snitched…

And then he promptly doxed them by posting their information on Facebook. “Here ya go,” he posted. “The gallery of snitches, busybodies, and employees who rat out their own neighbors and employers over the Panic-demic.”

And now the people whose names were on the list are afraid of reprisals from those they snitched on.

Snitches Are SCARED With The Shoe On The Other Foot

Funny how safe they felt when they had the veil of anonymity to protect them…

But now that their information is out there for the world to see, they’re worried about people wanting payback.

Maybe they should have minded their own business in the first place.

That’s what Jared Totsch believes. He told a news outlet, “If they are worried about retaliation, they should have read the fine print which stated their tips would be open public record subject to a Sunshine request, and should not have submitted tips in that manner to begin with. I released the info in an attempt to discourage such behavior in the future.”

Some view him as a hero, while others see him as a villain for exposing the people that said they were just trying to do what’s right.

When the news outlet asked him whether he felt any remorse for his actions or concern for anyone that may have to deal with blowback from their snitching, Totsch had this to say: “I’d call it poetic justice, instant Karma, a dose of their own medicine. What goes around, comes around,” he replied. ‘They are now experiencing the same pain that they themselves helped to inflict on those they filed complaints against.”

That may be true…

Maybe these tattlers will think twice about complaining again. Maybe this will discourage others from acting in the same petty way.

Either way, snitching on neighbors is exactly what German’s did during Nazism—and if they’re ok with acting like the people they say they hate, that’s on them.

Was Totsch right or wrong to dox these people?

You be the judge…
