Leaked emails between the senior adviser to Nashville’s Mayor and a health department official revealed that they tried to hide extremely low coronavirus cases, about 80 out of 20,000 cases, emanating from bars and restaurants, according to contact tracing data. The Mayor’s senior advisor said that the data was “not for public consumption”.

Nashville City Councilman Steve Glover said, “We raised taxes 34% and put hundreds, literally thousands, of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes their apartments etcetera and we did it on bogus data. That should be illegal!”

 

 

 

Donald Trump Jr. has weighed in over Nashville officials concealing the low number of COVID-19 cases in bars and restaurants.

In a Thursday tweet, the president’s son said “The Dem Mayor of Nashville KNOWINGLY LIED ABOUT COVID DATA to justify shutting down bars & restaurants, killing countless jobs & small businesses in the process,” adding “Everyone involved should face jail time. How many other Dem run cities is this happening in?”
