Dozens of concerned parents gathered outside of an Orange County Board of Education meeting to protest mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for students and lowering the age of children who may get the vaccine without parental consent. Human Rights attorney Leing Dundas said that she heard that the schools would not open and return to ‘normalcy’ until all children in the county were vaccinated. Parents also objected to vaccine centers occupying school property. The school board denied that teachers and students would be required to be vaccinated before returning to campus. The board said that vaccines are voluntary and that parents must consent and accompany children and minors under 18 for vaccination.
