Flustered Don Lemon demands ‘What are you asking?’

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has a no-holds-barred attitude toward politics. He’s described Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as “anti-gun bigots,” has told lawmakers to leave cops alone, and has pointed out, in an affront to political correctness, that 93 percent of black homicides are committed by … other black people.

Now he’s unloaded on CNN’s Don Lemon.

On the topic of the homicidal attack on Baton Rouge, Louisiana, police officers.

In the interview, he said he predicted the police shootings.

“I’ve been watching this for two years. I’ve predicted this,” Clarke told CNN. “This anti-police rhetoric sweeping the country has turned out some hateful things inside of people that are now playing themselves out on the American police officer.”

He said the Black Lives Matter movement inspires violence against police officers.

CNN said Lemon wanted specifics but “the sheriff didn’t offer any.”

Lemon charged into the interview about the Baton Rouge shootings of police citing authorities there.

“Their message is peace and coming together in the country. What’s your message?” Lemon demanded.

The exchange followed:

Clarke, “You don’t believe that for one minute, do you?”

Lemon, “That’s what they said to me. Yeah, I believe them.”

Clarke, “Are there protests over the deaths of the cops in Baton Rouge?”

Lemon, “I don’t know that.”

Clarke, “Any riots or protests over the police officers in Dallas, Texas?”

Lemon, “What are you asking?”

Clarke explained, according to CNN, “My message has been clear from day one two years ago. This anti-cop sentiment from this hateful ideology called Black Lives Matter has fueled this rage against the American police officer. I predicted this two years ago.”

When Lemon wanted the sheriff to “keep the vibe down,” Clarke said, “I’m looking at three dead cops this week and I am looking at five last week. You’re trying to tell me to keep it down?”

And when Lemon claimed Barack Obama has spoken about data that police are more aggressive toward black males than white males, Clarke said, “The president has been lying about it.”

Clarke also previously criticized Obama for failing to address the real contributing issues of gun violence – that of “the underclass young black male,” he said.

“If you want to reduce violence,” Clarke said, Breitbart reported, “and the president knows this, you target criminals. … You don’t make [law-abiding citizens] have to go jump through hoops, in a higher threshold to exercise their Second Amendment right. … If he goes after the real perpetrators of violence in America, he would have to target the underclass young black male and – who disproportionately is involved in all this violence, and he doesn’t want to do that.”

Clarke suggested the answer to countering the current gun-related violence and crime in America was for more to arm themselves.

“I want as many law-abiding citizens to arm themselves in this country as we can get so that I have the partner that I need to beat back this sort of violence,” he said, Breitbart reported at the time. “And in these mass shooting situations … the great equalizer is a law-abiding citizen in that situation, with a firearm, that can take action, because when seconds count, the police are usually minutes away.”
