Former Obama CIA Director John Brennan testified before the House Intelligence Committee.

Many suspect he is one of the Deep State operatives pushing the conspiracy theory that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to steal the election.

But when he faced off with Trey Gowdy, one question revealed the real truth.

In his testimony, Brennan tried to dance around the fact no evidence exists proving collusion.

News accounts have reported that Obama intelligence officials were monitoring contacts between Trump associates and Russians, but that no communications were uncovered which suggested or proved any wrong doing.

Brennan tried to dance around this before Congress, but was grilled by Gowdy to reveal what he actually knew.

The Daily Caller reports:

“REP. TREY GOWDY (R-SC) GRILLED EX-CIA CHIEF JOHN BRENNAN ON EVIDENCE OF US-RUSSIA COLLUSION, FORCING BRENNAN TO ADMIT HE DOESN’T ACTUALLY KNOW IF THERE WAS ANY COLLUSION.

BRENNAN IS TESTIFYING IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE TUESDAY ABOUT CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE US AND RUSSIA.

GOWDY ASKED BRENNAN IF HE HAD SEEN ANY EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION, COORDINATION, OR CONSPIRACY BETWEEN DONALD TRUMP AND RUSSIAN ACTORS.

BRENNAN RESPONDED THAT HE HAD SEEN INFORMATION ABOUT CONTACTS BETWEEN RUSSIAN AND US ACTORS THAT LED HIM TO BELIEVE THE MATTER SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER BY THE FBI, BUT DECLINED TO SAY WHETHER OR NOT HE SAW DIRECT LINKS BETWEEN TRUMP AND RUSSIA.”

This testimony aligns with what other officials and Democrats have said on the record.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and California Senator Diane Feinstein both stated they have seen no evidence of collusion.

But the media and Democrat base voters refuse to take that for an answer.

So Brennan tried to play to their fever dreams in his testimony.

The Daily Caller also reports:

“I WAS AWARE OF INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION ABOUT CONTACTS BETWEEN RUSSIAN OFFICIALS AND US PERSONS THAT RAISED CONCERNS IN MY MIND ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THOSE INDIVIDUALS WERE COOPERATING WITH THE RUSSIANS…THAT SERVED AS THE BASIS FOR THE FBI INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE WHETHER SUCH COLLUSION, COOPERATION OCCURRED,” BRENNAN EXPLAINED.”

Gowdy – however – was not about to let Brennan escape using innuendo and suspicion to substitute for evidence.

He pressed Brennan and forced him to admit – on the record – that he had no idea if the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

The Daily Caller also reports:

GOWDY, STILL UNSATISFIED, RESPONDED, “WELL, THERE ARE A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT START WITH ‘C’ FLOATING AROUND.”

“I ASKED YOU ABOUT COLLUSION, COORDINATION, AND CONSPIRACY, AND YOU USED THE WORD ‘CONTACT,’” GOWDY SAID. “…CONTACT COULD BE BENIGN OR NOT BENIGN. SO WAS IT CONTACT YOU SAW…WHAT WAS THE NATURE OF WHAT YOU SAW?”

“I SAW INTERACTION,” BRENNAN SAID. “BUT I DON’T KNOW. I DON’T HAVE SUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO MAKE A DETERMINATION WHETHER OR NOT THERE WAS COOPERATION OR COMPLICITY OR COLLUSION.”

Brennan’s testimony will help the anti-Trump media keep this fake news story alive.

They will print sensationalized headlines, but the substance of Brennan’s testimony fits with what everyone knows – there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

If the Deep State had any such evidence, it would have been leaked.

Instead, the real collusion is between the Deep State and the media to float a fact-free story to inflict political damage on the Trump administration.

In this hearing, though, Trey Gowdy was having none of that.

He pressed Brennan until it forced him to admit the truth – there is no evidence of collusion.
