CRITICAL THINKING WRITES: The geopolitical chess game in the Persian Gulf is hotting up with pro-war (and “progressive”) voices buying into the implausible narrative that Iran was responsible for the recent attack on a Japanese oil tanker, which the Japanese have refuted. The more recent downing of a US spy drone is the latest attempt by the US to escalate tensions – flying the drone into Iranian airspace was clearly provocative.

Iran Shoots Down Strategic U.S. Drone – Is Ready For War – Puts “Maximum Pressure” On Trump by Moon Of Alabama
DUBAI (Reuters) – Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards have shot down a U.S. “spy” drone in the southern province of Hormozgan, which is on the Gulf, the Guards’ news website Sepah News said on Thursday.
State news agency IRNA carried the same report, identifying the drone as an RQ-4 Global Hawk.
“It was shot down when it entered Iran’s airspace near the Kouhmobarak district in the south,” the Guards’ website added.

As always, we need to ask cui bono? Who will benefit from war with Iran? Israel, which has been using its intelligence services and political influence in Washington and across Europe to incite such a conflict since 9/11. The wars for the Israeli empire started on 9/11 and have unfolded across the Middle East as planned. Iran is another on the “list” of countries to be destroyed in the acquisition of wealth, power and resources across the region.

As an aside, the following graphic appeared on Twitter overnight.

MilitarySpending600.png

The populations of the US, Israel and Iran are 330m, 9m and 83m respectively. Thus, the US is spending $1,966,000 on weapons for each person in the US; Israel is spending $1,767,000 on weapons for each person in Israel; Iran is spending $159,000 on weapons for each person in Iran. Do we imagine that the majority of Americans or Israelis want their governments to spend all this money creating conflict in the world? What could that money do for people if spent at home?

In this mad world with a flawed political economy, war and money are synonymous because it’s how the farmers keep us divided and under control. George Orwell warned us in 1984… perpetual war.

We don’t have to accept their narratives and can weaken the grip of the farmers by not participating in their theatre of brinkmanship by calling it out for what it is: War games for power and wealth – game of thrones in real life but with an overriding puppet master controlling the players.
