The NFL just keeps offering up words of wisdom.

The latest are The words of Pete Carroll, coach of the (where?) Seattle (oh!) Seahawks.

[My commentary in brackets.]

Coach Carroll said:

“(White people) need to be coached up and they need to be educated about what the heck is going on in the world,” Carroll said. “Black people can’t scream anymore, they can’t march any more, they can’t bear their souls anymore to what they’ve lived with for hundreds of years because white guys came over from Europe and started a new country with a great idea and great ideals and wrote down great writings and laws and all of that about democracy and freedom and equality for all. And then that’s not what happened, [It was a plan, not an historical account, sir.  We are still working on it, as it is unfinished, because the left remains with their boots on the necks of black people, keeping them down and compliant and voting Demoncrat.  Frankly, there were many more not quite white people starting new countries in this hemisphere who had MANY more black slaves than were found in the united states.] because we went down this road here and followed economics—rich white guys making money—and they put together a system of slavery, and we’ve never left it, really. It has never gone away.  [Pete Carroll says that the system of slavery in America “has never gone away.”  Keep that in mind.]

“And Black people know the truth, they know exactly what’s going on. It’s white people who don’t know. It’s not that they’re not telling us; they’ve been telling us the stories. We know what’s right and what’s wrong, we just have not been open to listen to it. We’ve been unwilling to accept the real history. We’ve been taught a false history of what happened in this country, we’ve been basing things on false premises, and it has not been about equality for all, it has not been about freedom for all, it has not been opportunity for all, and it needs to be. This is a humanity issue we’re dealing with. [There, he’s got that right.  This is not an “American issue,” as the Marxists agitators are saying, this is a HUMAN HEART issue.  And, as long as Marxist agitators deny that there is a human heart that needs redemption and a savior, and keeps insisting that America is the problem- the only problem- we will not solve this humanity issue.] This is a white people’s issue to get over and learn what’s going on and to figure it out and start loving everybody that is part of our country, and that want to our country, wherever they want to come from.”  [And this is what so many white people are doing, but you, Pete, and many like you, refuse to see it.  How many black babies are adopted by white people in America?  How many of the reverse?  Why do people want to come to America if they will be treated poorly?  Why?  Right away, you see Mr. Carroll conflate the ILLEGAL immigration “issue” with the slavery issue.  This suggests either ignorance or malevolence from a man whom I grant has good intent.

And just to make it clear that Pete is wrong that the system of slavery has never gone away, please note the following which explains that if slavery has never gone away, the slave owners are really crappy at maintaining the slavery system.  Coach Carroll tells us that the slaves are registered to vote.  Maybe they’ll vote to end slavery?]

To emphasize one of his points, Carroll’s team announced that all of its players are now registered to vote.

[Now, really, are we to listen to a man- and take his word as true- when he announces that slaves can vote, or at least register to vote, suggesting that they can?

Okay, it may well be true that, as a whole, black people are suffering things that white people do not suffer, as a.  However, we cannot even begin to have a discussion about these things as long as we hear such rhetoric as America still has a system of slavery.  Or maybe slavery isn’t what it used to be?  Are NFL teams plantations?  We cannot begin to discuss “race equity” when Marxists and poverty pimps like Al Sharpton have a seat at the table because they spew words that are designed to harm not help.  We cannot begin to have a discussion about how America can become united and live together regardless of skin pigmentation as long the leftist press chooses which news to present as actions based upon race and which to ignore regardless of the fact that the actions were actually based upon race.

When the left- and not the Marxists, not the poverty pimps- is ready to discuss how to make America better for all Americans, then, and only then, can we have a dialogue that has a chance of effective amelioration.

By the way, slaves weren’t legally taught to read 250+ years ago in much of America.  Are today’s slaves being taught to read?  If yes, explain that.  If no, why are billions of dollars being spent in the name of teaching reading?]
