Ralph Kermit Winterrowd 2nd was raised on a farm in Southeastern Kansas. He belonged to the IBEW Union (Denver and Alaska), Utility Workers of America Union (Wyoming), and Teamsters Union (Alaska), with classifications as a substation electrician, power plant electrician, and communications tech. Winterrowd has worked on the Alyeska Pipeline as a lead communication tech, from Prudhoe Bay to the Valdez Terminal. He started his own telephone interconnect in 1985 and became the largest privately held company in this field in Alaska, grossing over 2 million per year and growing.
