With disillusionment over big government rising, Author/Director J Neil Schulman spoke to Republic Broadcasting last Friday about his new film, Alongside Night, starring Kevin Sorbo (Hercules and God’s Not Dead) that will have a Special Movie Screening this Wednesday, Sept 10, 2014 at 7:30pm in Dallas, Texas.
When asked to about his new movie, Neil explained, “Alongside Night is a near-future political thriller about what happens when the government spins itself into oblivion and puts everyone at risk.”
In this film, Kevin Sorbo plays a Nobel Prize winning economist Dr. Martin Vreeland in the midst of the final economic crisis in the US. The main character in both the novel and movie is a teenager played by a 16-yr-old actor named Christian Kramme as Elliott Vreeland. He helps his father Dr. Martin Vreeland (Kevin Sorbo) go underground to hide from big government using near-future technology that is very close to reality and raises serious privacy concerns.
As a Twilight Zone writer, Neil added that he wrote “Alongside Night” to solve the problem that Ayn Rand raises in “Atlas Shrugged”.
