Gideon Rozner, the Director of Policy at the Institute of Public Affairs in Melbourne, said that the police in his home state of Victoria asked the Federal Civil Aviation Authority to declare a no-fly zone over Melbourne so commercial media outlets couldn’t film the protests which would have allowed the public to know how large they were. He said it was extraordinary for the government to request the police to censor the broadcast media. -GEG
