The Civil Rights Movement never happened—or at least that’s what the Democrats seem to think. By omitting the simple truth that Americans of all races, genders, and national origin are freer now than at any other moment in American history, the Democrat Party is essentially erasing all the progress made by Civil Rights activists throughout our national history.

They pretend like it’s still the 1950s, acting like there are legal restrictions barring minorities from voting, riding on buses, and using the same facilities as white people. They keep falsely claiming that Republicans want to suppress the black vote and are hell-bent on doing so. That claim is, of course, preposterous, but that hasn’t stopped them from sticking to their bogus talking points.

The top of the Democrat presidential ticket is repeating this lie and the media is letting him get away with it. Joe Biden, the man who once said that Mitt Romney was going to put black people “back in chains,” is now sowing further division by claiming that the Republicans are actively attempting to institute a new system of racist Jim Crow laws, in the same vein as those implemented by the racist southern states in the decades following the Civil War.

Joe Biden said that there is “a whole new effort of Jim Crow out there…There’s still a significant effort in this administration to make it more difficult for Americans to vote. When you and I get elected, God willing, we’re going to push hard to make voting, Election Day a national holiday,” Biden said. “So people don’t have to take off work.”

“What are they afraid of? I think they’re afraid of people showing up and voting.”

No, Joe, I can answer this question for you: Republicans are rightfully afraid about massive voter fraud due to universal mail-in balloting, and you should be too. The process is ripe for abuse and has never been done on such a grand scale before. Mailing ballots to every American could be—and likely would be—catastrophic. Contrary to what Democrats keep saying, it isn’t the same thing as absentee balloting, which requires the voter to request a ballot.

None of the Republicans’ concerns have anything to do with suppressing the minority vote, a contention that Biden’s former boss Barack Obama parroted at the recent Democrat Convention. The former president said, “Well, here’s the point: this president and those in power — those who benefit from keeping things the way they are — they are counting on your cynicism. They know they can’t win you over with their policies. So, they’re hoping to make it as hard as possible for you to vote, and to convince you that your vote doesn’t matter. That’s how they win.”

Without even consciously realizing it—or maybe realizing it and simply nor caring—the Democrats are disrespecting the heroic actions of the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Those courageous souls subjected themselves to brutal beatings, arrests, and humiliation, all in the name of ensuring that the country lived up to our founding creed: “All men are created equal.”

Without a shred of proof, Joe Biden and the Democrats are trying to convince us that we are going backwards on race relations, not forward. Sadly, that might be true, but not because of Republicans. Rather, it’s because of Democrats and their mob supporters.

Race relations didn’t begin deteriorating once Donald Trump became president, they began worsening following the election of Barack Obama, and they’ve been getting worse ever since. Polls have shown that a majority of Americans believe this, and bear in mind that the Ferguson and Baltimore riots happened during Obama’s presidency and he did nothing to stop the violence.

Instead of lying and stoking the flames of race riots, Joe Biden and the Democrats should join with President Trump in condemning the mob violence in the country. It takes a group effort to solve these problems and gaslighting the people by claiming the carnage is the result of the Trump presidency isn’t helping anything. This is a time where both parties could come together and present a united front, but instead, the Dems are blinded by their hatred of Donald Trump.

To any person who marched during the Civil Rights movement, as an American and conservative, I thank you for what you did to make this a more perfect union. The Democrats act like you never existed, and that is sad. You deserve better than today’s Democrat Party, and we can only hope that the rest of the country comes to see that too.
