Reuters published an article that admitted the FBI had no evidence that the January-6 breach of the Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election. More than 570 people have been arrested, and many still are languishing in prison under harsh conditions. Now that the FBI admits there was no high-level organization behind the protests, Darren Beattie of Revolver.news questions if the FBI and other intelligence agencies are backing off the ‘insurrection’ narrative because they are anxious to conceal their own involvement in coordinating the events that day. Beattie says the FBI’s admission now may provide a plausible excuse to stop to the investigation to prevent the evidence of FBI involvement from being introduced. -GEG

The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.
Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.
