House Republicans have voted in favor of subpoenaing Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary, will be subpoenaed to appear before the House Oversight Committee in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein files.
According to the Daily Mail, the motion to subpoena the former first family was put forward by Rep. Scott Perry and later passed by Chairman James Comer. It was also reported that the motion calls for several other high-profile Democrats to be subpoenaed.
The motion passed by voice vote, meaning there was not an individual roll call. The subpoenas would actually need to be issued by Comer to be active, Fox News reported.
Once formally subpoenaed former Attorney Generals Eric Holder and Merrick Garland will now be forced to testify alongside ex-special counsel Robert Mueller. The full list, including those mentioned, names Loretta Elizabeth Lynch, William Pelham Barr, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions the third, and Alberto Gonzales. Law enforcement have not accused the Clintons or any other allegedly subpoenaed individuals of any wrongdoing related to Epstein, and none of them have been identified as targets of any associated investigations.

The request to subpoena the Democrats comes one day after Comer subpoenaed Epstein’s longtime partner and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving 20 years in a Florida prison. It was reported on Thursday that Maxwell was, in fact, meeting with agents from the Department of Justice.
Maxwell’s meeting
In his subpoena to Maxwell, Comer wrote, “The facts and circumstances surrounding both your and Mr. Epstein’s cases have received immense public interest and scrutiny.” He also added, “While the Justice Department undertakes efforts to uncover and publicly disclose additional information related to your and Mr. Epstein’s cases, it is imperative that Congress conduct oversight of the federal government’s enforcement of sex trafficking laws generally and specifically its handling of the investigation and prosecution of you and Mr. Epstein.”
In connection with the DoJ interview of Maxwell, Todd Blanche, the Deputy Attorney General, also explained why it was now important to get Maxwell to talk about her ex-partner’s operation. “If Ghislaine Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say,” Blanche stated in a post on X.
According to the DOJ, Epstein allegedly abused more than 1,000 victims. It was reported that the British socialite was taken from her cell in Tallahassee for her interview with Blanche.
Reports indicate that Blanche arrived in the city around 9 a.m. local time. When reporters asked if he wanted to comment prior to the meeting, he shook his head and said, “No.”
The 63-year-old Brit’s lawyers were also seen entering the courthouse. “We’re looking forward to a productive day,” David Markus, Maxwell’s appellate lawyer, said.
He declined to give further comment. Maxwell’s attorney confirmed earlier this week that they were in discussions with the DoJ about the visit, saying in a statement that “Ghislaine will always testify truthfully.”
It was reported that, after reading the news, one victim of the disgraced financier commented, “This subpoena means Ghislaine will finally have to testify under oath, and that could blow the lid off Jeffrey’s entire network.” They added, “She could expose the people who enabled it, the cover-ups, the failures by law enforcement — all of it… But she’ll want something in return for sure. Many of the girls abused by Jeffrey that I still speak to expect she’ll walk free when all this is done.”
