A senior Iranian lawmaker says French conditions set for Iran on the threshold of fresh negotiations between Tehran and the six major world powers are the Israeli regime’s directives aimed at spoiling the upcoming talks.

“Conditions set in Tel Aviv for the negotiations are without a doubt the …demands of the Zionists and their allies and all those who receive orders from this regime,” Kazem Jalali said Monday.

“This issue is clear that when a directive is issued in Tel Aviv, it indicates efforts to spoil the negotiations and disrupt the opportunity that the Iranian nation has provided Westerners with. Those who are disrupting the talks in this way should be held accountable,” the Iranian legislator added.

He emphasized that pursuing the policies of the warmongering Israeli regime is not in the interest of France or the world, urging French officials to respect French public opinion.

In a visit to Israel on Sunday, French President Francois Hollande said that Iran should meet four demands to reach an agreement over its nuclear energy program.

“The first demand: put all the Iranian nuclear installations under international supervision, right now. Second point: suspend enrichment to 20 percent. Thirdly: to reduce the existing stock [of enriched material],” Hollande said.

“And finally, to halt construction of the Arak [heavy water] plant. These are the points which for us are essential to guarantee any agreement,” he added.

Jalali further said that France should be held responsible for consequences of any failure in the upcoming talks between Iran and the six powers in Geneva as it becomes the spokesman for the Zionist regime by setting illogical conditions.

“Iran is ready to participate in the negotiations within the framework of international rules and regulations as well as [in line with] its rights but it will definitely not accept conditions that ignore the red lines of the Islamic establishment,” the legislator added.

Representatives from Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, France, Britain and the US – plus Germany are set to resume a fresh round of talks about Tehran’s nuclear energy program in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 20.

France has been one of the main reasons behind hampering a possible deal between Iran and the six powers during the last round of talks on November 7-10 when the two sides managed to narrow their differences and were seemingly close to reaching an agreement.

On November 9, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said “Israel’s concerns” must be taken into consideration in the course of the negotiations.
