The mother of Jacob Blake, Julia Jackson, recently condemned the violence happening in Kenosha, Wisconsin over the shooting of her son. She went on CNN speaking to host Don Lemon and said that she is “hurt” and “disgusted” by the rioters and used her time on air to apologize to President Donald Trump.

Riots have broken out on the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin after police shot Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man after responding to a domestic incident. He was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot seven times, including one of the bullets tearing through his spinal cord. He was told he may never walk again. The protest over the police shooting of Blake led to a person with a long gun opening fire during a riot.

A man was recording on Facebook Live during the riots when he heard gunshots in the distance. The man firing the weapon can be seen running towards police vehicles with his hands in the air. Two people were killed and three were shot as the riots entered their third consecutive night.

“You shouldn’t do it. People shouldn’t do it anyway, but to use my child or any other mother or father’s child — our tragedy — to react in that manner is just not acceptable. And it’s not helping Jacob. It’s not helping Jacob or any other of the men or women who have suffered in these areas,” Julia Jackson said.

Jackson explained how upset she was over people burning up property and causing havoc in her son’s name. She used her opportunity on CNN to apologize to the President for missing his personal phone call and from the comments, other family members made about him.

“I’m not mad at you at all. I have the utmost respect for you as the leader of our country. Like I said before and I’m not saying this to him directly: We should always get the details from the right source before we start throwing bricks,” Jackson said in regards to President Trump.

This is not the first time parents have spoken out over the violence being justified in their children’s names. George Floyd’s mother has said to channel anger into doing something positive instead of destroying your hometown. Michael Brown’s family said they reject any kind of violence and denounce the actions of stand-alone agitators. Trayvon Martin’s family said that they reject any kind of violence directed towards members of law enforcement and the community.

These families have the strength to be the adults in the room and do the right thing, in contrast to the politicians, celebrities, and Marxists, using tragedies for their own political agenda. It’s a sick game the radical left and media is playing, where destruction is justifiable and riots are “protests.” I bet this wasn’t the interview Don Lemon hoped for.
