  • Rolling Stone repeats the lie that Sicknick died from a stroke caused by ‘chemical irritants’
  • DC Coroner specifically looked for any signs of such irritation and found none
  • Sicknick’s death was due to natural causes and not related to the January 6th protest

The New York Times set the Officer Brian Sicknick disinformation machine in motion right after the January 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol. Seeking to deflect from the shooting of unarmed Ashli Babbitt and the likely murder of Rosanne Boyland, the media coalesced on the day-after death of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.

Sicknick was lionized as a hero and was allowed to lay in state at the U.S. Capitol, a very rare honor.

The problem is that Brian Sicknick died from natural causes, not because of January 6th. Every investigation has come to this conclusion, including a DC Coroner autopsy that was specifically looking for evidence of an allergic reaction or chemical irritants within Sicknick’s body.

Brian Sicknick died from natural causes, and Rolling Stone is lying about it to keep pushing a false narrative, to keep their disinformation campaign alive.

Major Violations:

  • Lying
  • Misrepresenting a Source
  • Opinion as Fact
  • No Evidence to Support
  • Some People Say

We have repeatedly fact-checked the Sicknick death, because the evidence is so glaring and yet the left-wing elites in politics and the media keep repeating this lie.

Biden lied and said that Sicknick was killed by J6 protesters. [1] The New York Times refuses to correct its earlier reporting on Sicknick. [2] Other media outlets carefully try to leave their readers with the false impression that Sicknick was killed by J6 protesters. [3]

The New York Times originally said Sicknick was injured by a fire extinguisher, leaving a ‘gash’ in his head. This was a total and complete lie. [4]

Federal prosecutors then pushed the lie that J6 protesters used high-grade ‘bear spray’ on Brian Sicknick, causing him to later have a stroke. This was a total and complete lie. [5]

The District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the U.S. Capitol Police both say that Sicknick died of natural causes. [6]

Outlets as reliably left-wing as NPR [7] and CBS [8] and the Washington Post [9] reported that Sicknick died of natural causes.

Here’s what NBC News reported, [10] relying on Washington Post reporting [11]:

The formal finding was that the death [of Brian Sicknick] was caused by “acute brainstem and cerebellar infarcts due to acute basilar artery thrombosis” and that the manner of death was “natural.”

Diaz told The Washington Post that the autopsy found no evidence that Sicknick experienced an allergic reaction to chemical irritants. He also said there was no evidence of either external or internal injuries.

The Brian Sicknick autopsy came out on April 19, 2021. So this is relatively old news by now.

Yet here’s Rolling Stone, over a year later, lying to its readers:

The pair attended Thursday night’s Jan. 6 committee hearing, at which Capitol Police officer Caroline Edwards testified that she saw her colleague “ghostly pale” with his head in his hands at one point during the riot. Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes the day after he engaged Trump supporters who sprayed him with a chemical irritant on the perimeter of the Capitol.

They are trying to word this to make it seem like the ‘natural causes’ were a direct result of the chemical irritant.

Yet the DC Coroner specifically looked for evidence of an allergic reaction or for other internal signs of reaction to a chemical irritant and found none. There is no evidence to support the claim Sicknick died from chemical irritants.

And it’s very exploitative when they use the Sicknick family, no doubt struggling in their grief to find something to blame their loss upon, to justify the source of their theory here. This is just the some people say violation, it’s sourcing an opinion as fact in order to get around the established facts.

They are simply lying when they write this, careful to couch their language just enough to give them some wiggle room if cornered, but clearly leaving readers with major disinformation and false narrative frames: that Sicknick’s death was caused by the protests.

In case that point was missed, they made it as part of the some people say violation, earlier, when quoting Sicknick’s relatives:

“Not one tweet, not one note, not one card — nothing from him, because he knows. He knows he [Trump] is the cause of the whole thing,” Ken Sicknick told CNN’s John Berman on Friday.

Nothing how ‘the cause of the whole thing’ could mean either the January 6th protest but could also mean the death of their relative Brian Sicknick.

Yet, again, Brian Sicknick’s death was from natural causes: a brain clot that had nothing to do with January 6th.

And then later, Rolling Stone quotes the Sicknick relative again blaming Trump for January 6th and his relative’s death:

Berman, after mentioning how Brian Sicknick’s partner has said that justice for the couple would be “having Donald Trump in prison,” asked the pair if they agreed. “That’s the least that could happen — would be him being thrown in prison,” Ken Sicknick replied. “That night while he was laughing and, you know, cheering on the crowds, you know, he still — he still would wake up in the morning and be able to see his family.”

Donald Trump deserves prison, according to how the Rolling Stone author wrote this story, because Brian Sicknick died as a result.

Yet that’s completely untrue, a complete lie, and they know it.

Biden has set the tone that it’s OK to lie about Brian Sicknick because it serves their purposes: silencing dissent and demonizing the hundreds being persecuted for attending the January 6th rally. But the facts speak for themselves, and this left-wing disinformation campaign is still in full swing for the unsuspecting and trusting reader.
