The New York Times has led the resistance to Donald Trump.
But the paper crossed a line and their lies were exposed.
And now the New York Times was forced to admit this humiliating defeat to Trump.
Since the beginning of Trump’s presidency, he has been mocked, lied about, and disrespected by the media.
It’s no secret that various news sources hate him.
However, the New York Times messed up big time with their story against Trump because of the source it came from.
The Trump administration and others have mocked the Times for their “high-level insider” when he turned out to be pretty far down on the totem pole.
Miles Taylor, the author of several “anonymous” tips about Trump, was shown to be a fraud.
The Trump administration responded to his insults, saying:
“President Trump is focused on leading the great American comeback and keeping his promises to the American people. This low-level, disgruntled former staffer is a liar and a coward who chose anonymity over action and leaking over leading. He was ineffective and incompetent during his time as DHS Chief of Staff which is why he was promptly fired after only serving in this role for a matter of weeks. It is appalling a low-ranking official would be granted anonymity and it is clear the New York Times is doing the bidding of Never-Trumpers and Democrats. The American people elected President Trump to carry out his vision for the country, not an arrogant deep state operative trying to put their agenda ahead of the President’s America First policies.”
Mark Meadows, the White House Chief of Staff tweeted:
“Laughable as the ‘Miles Taylor Anonymous’ episode is, it’s every bit as damaging to the media. The New York Times amplified a no-name agency deputy with no access to President Trump and misled Americans into thinking he was an influential senior official. Absolutely ridiculous.”
Many other media sources and reporters have seen the Times’ decision to label Taylor as a “senior administration official” as embarrassing and misleading at best.
NRSC Senior Advisor Matt Whitlock noted:
“Miles Taylor wasn’t even listed on DHS’s senior leadership page when NYT published his op-ed because he was just a policy advisor, not even chief of staff.”
Daily Caller Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Ingersoll added:
“Yeah this is … really bad … carefully crafting the sense that Anonymous was a cabinet member … it’s also reckless to inject that kind of paranoia into a WH admin for … what amounts to clicks.”
Journalist Yashar Ali tweeted:
“Miles Taylor is the new James Comey. He’s not a hero to either side.”
And they are absolutely right.
The Times published this grand story with the intention of misleading the American people about their President.
It is disappointing to know that a major media source would stoop so low.
However, it is not unexpected.
In a culture of clickbait and extreme viewpoints, it is easy to see how the Times got carried away for the sake of more views.
