The text: A well-regulated militia,1 being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.2
Recapitulation in process: A well-regulated [a well-drilled, well-trained] militia [compilation of the whole of able-bodied men, (then the ages 17 to 45)] being necessary to the security of a free state [without which a state WILL NOT remain free] the right [an affirmation demanded by The Creator, as rights are inalienable] of the people [ONLY TYRANTS NEED “THE PEOPLE” DEFINED] to keep and bear [own/have and CARRY] arms [weapons including- but not limited to- guns/firearms] shall not be infringed. [shall not be limited by any entity, by any method, and this right enforced with the full authority of just government.]
RECAPITULATION COMPLETE: A well-drilled, well-trained compilation of the whole of able-bodied men, without which a state will not remain free, an affirmation demanded by the Creator is that the people are free to own and carry weapons of any sort and shall not be limited by any method and this right is to be enforced by a just government.
This becomes so much easier to understand once it is accepted that rights are inalienable meaning that they not only cannot be taken away, they cannot be given away. God gives your rights with a purpose. This is why He will NOT allow you to give them away. In other words, when you allowed a government to make you believe you needed to obtain a permit, (requiring paying a fee, taking a test, proving competence, and limiting your putative “right” by making it expire after a period of time), to keep and bear arms, concealed, you did not give away your right to do so.*
It is inarguable that anybody who would unjustly curtail the ability of another to exercise a right has a sick heart and should not be in a position of authority over adults.
Rights ARE Responsibilities.
Thank you for considering this,

1 In order for the whole of able-bodied men to form a well-drilled, well-trained militia, they must have the ability to be around, use, become comfortable with firearms. There should be shooting teams in schools. There should be shooting contests as well as math and English and history contests. Spelling bee? Firearms bee.
2 Infringement is ANY action that makes more difficult the keeping and carrying of arms. This includes, but is not limited to laws, statutes, regulations that make keeping or carrying arms any amount more difficult. It includes, but is not limited to taxation, state or federal, (onerous by definition, here) of weapons, bullets, training-ranges, training expenses, appurtenances. The only restriction on the exercise of this right is a greater right. This is to say that the owner of a property has, and by right should have, the ability to turn back one carrying a gun (or for any other just cause). Your house/property is your house/property and nothing should come past your threshold against your will, (save maybe with a proper warrant).
And, take note: any who suggest infringing this right- or any right- without just cause should be viewed as attempting to thwart or undermine the rights of the people and the Constitution.
* Would you consider it just or reasonable to be required to pay a fee, take a test proving competence, and limiting any other right by making it expire after a period of time? Will you allow any of your 1st Amendment rights- freedom to exercise your religion, speaking freely, to peaceably assemble or petition the government for redress of grievance to be so abrogated?
A spade is a spade.
