Peaceful protests in Iran turned into anti-government riots following an increase in gasoline prices an rationing. Thugs and gunmen reportedly infiltrated the peaceful demonstrations to convert them into what appears to be violent mobs attempting to overthrow the government. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo threw his support behind the protesters and said that the US stands with them. However, the US State Department has imposed heavy economic sanctions against Iran that are hurting the Iranian people. Foreign agents are known to favor street violence in Iran to frighten the people into calling for regime change.
