Palestinian Christian Calls for Revival of Mercy in Evangelical Churches

Our Palestinian brother-in-Christ, Alex Awad, who was associated with Bethlehem Bible College in Bethlehem, Palestine, has responded to our post “Financial Times Weighs In On Israel’s Occupation Of Jerusalem,” and his comments are posted below.

Let’s help educate our fellow Americans about the plight of the Palestinians after the devastating announcement by Donald Trump that the US would be moving its embassy to Jerusalem.

If you’re on FaceBook, please “Like” and “Share” We Hold These Truths’ FaceBook, 2 minute video posting of our Arizona rally to support Palestine: https://www.facebook.com/weholdthesetruthsPSG/videos/1643931915697926/

If you don’t use FaceBook, please pass our story on our website that has the video about the rally and a podcast entitled:“Implications of Trump’s Move of US Embassy to Jerusalem.”

Thanks, Tom Compton

Alex Awad comments: “As an Evangelical Palestinian Christian I can’t believe that the Evangelical movement is straying so fast from the moral teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the Sermon on the Mount and throughout the New Testament. Evangelical focus on eschatology has blinded most Evangelicals of understanding the teachings about love, justice, mercy and goodness. This morning my brother in Bethlehem told me that 4 unarmed Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers in Bethlehem and hundreds are injured. Evangelicals who are not seeking justice and support the move of the US embassy to Jerusalem have blood on their hands. And yet. I am thankful for all the Evangelical churches and pastors throughout the Middle East and the world who stood against the move and are saying that Trump does not represent them. We need a revival of mercy, understanding and maturity in the Evangelical Church.”
