What Would Charlie Say?

Charlie Kirk was a man who demonstrated nearly pathological patience and he had love for his Creator in his heart and, therefore, he would certainly remind us that we are to pray for our enemies, (they being only God’s enemies), and remember that his savior, Jesus, went willingly to the cross.

I recently saw a video in which Mr. Kirk was asked how he would want to be remembered, and he said for courage for his faith. Like Jesus, he was about spreading truth for no other reason than the sake of the truth, for the power in truth, there being nothing more important than truth for it is the way to life.

I am certain that, as he had a concern for those who disagreed with him, he would ask us to pray for those who, today, are celebrating and not mourning, praying that they come to the saving knowledge of truth- of the Christ. I am certain that, as he daily picked up his cross to bear the burden that was placed on his heart in his concern for truth and care for his fellow man, we can do nothing better in his memory that follow him following his savior.

He followed Christ. He would urge you to follow Christ.

I think Charlie might say, today, as he likely believed every day that what we should do is ask, “What would Jesus do?”

And, as imperfectly as will be, we should.
Cover his family in prayer and be prepared, always, to follow his lead as he followed His lead.

Be, prepared, always, to contend for the faith, defend yourself and others, but remember, always, as a Christian you’re not called to vengeance but humility. As hard as it may be to remember and harder to accept, regardless what happens in the disposition of his murder, final justice is reserved for another portion of eternity.
