Why We Don’t Want Kamala

On Sunday, July 21, a letter appeared on brain-dead “President” Joe Biden’s Twitter account purporting to be a message that he would not be running for re-election but would continue in office until his term expires next January. Shortly thereafter, another post appeared that said he endorsed his DEI hire Kamala Harris as his successor. It is more than a little strange that Biden made no appearance on television to announce these momentous news items. It would not be surprising to find out that he is as yet unaware of them.
But assuming the posts are indeed authentic, the question arises, would Kamala Harris make a good president? It is clear that she would not.Best Price: $3.98Buy New $8.00(as of 08:14 UTC – Details)
As the great Murray Rothbard has taught us, war and peace is the key issue of our time. Harris has revealed an abysmal ignorance on this subject. “During an appearance on the syndicated “Morning Hustle” radio program, Harris was asked by co-host Headkrack to explain the conflict ‘in layman’s terms for people who don’t understand what’s going on and how can this directly affect the people of the United States?’
Speaking slowly, Harris began, ‘So, Ukraine is a country in Europe.’
‘It exists next to another country called Russia,’ she continued. ‘Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong, and it goes against everything that we stand for.’”
This was no one-time slip. Harris is appallingly ignorant of the geography of Eastern Europe. On a trip to Poland in March 2022, she said: “I am here, standing here on the northern flank — on the eastern flank talking about what we have in terms of the eastern flank and our NATO Allies and what is at stake at this very moment. What is at stake this very moment are some of the guiding principles around the NATO Alliance and, in particular, the issue and the importance of defending sovereignty and territorial integrity, in this case, of Ukraine.”
Do we want such a complete ignoramus to be our president? The question answers itself.
If you want to know what someone is really like, one good way to find out is to ask those who work with him. Is the person mean and overbearing? That is likely to be the person’s real personality. Harris’s staffers report her to be exactly that, and she is incompetent to boot. According to a story that was published in Politico in June 2021, “While much of the ire is aimed at Harris’ chief, two administration officials said the VP herself also bears responsibility for the way her office is run. ‘It all starts at the top,’ said one of the administration officials, who like others requested anonymity to be able to speak candidly about a sensitive matter. ‘People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,’ said another person with direct knowledge of how Harris’ office is run. ‘It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s—.’” See this.

But shortly before the Biden debate “crisis,” they were telling a different story. They were saying that she was a grave liability to the ticket. Because of Biden’s advanced age, she might become the next president, and people didn’t want her. Keeping her on the ticket might drag Biden down to defeat. A story in the New York Times in March 2023 reported: “But the painful reality for Ms. Harris is that in private conversations over the last few months, dozens of Democrats in the White House, on Capitol Hill and around the nation — including some who helped put her on the party’s 2020 ticket — said she had not risen to the challenge of proving herself as a future leader of the party, much less the country. Even some Democrats whom her own advisers referred reporters to for supportive quotes confided privately that they had lost hope in her. Through much of the fall, a quiet panic set in among key Democrats about what would happen if President Biden opted not to run for a second term. Most Democrats interviewed, who insisted on anonymity to avoid alienating the White House, said flatly that they did not think Ms. Harris could win the presidency in 2024. Some said the party’s biggest challenge would be finding a way to sideline her without inflaming key Democratic constituencies that would take offense. Now with Mr. Biden appearing all but certain to run again, the concern over Ms. Harris has shifted to whether she will be a political liability for the ticket. Given that Mr. Biden at 80 is already the oldest president in American history, Republicans would most likely make Ms. Harris, who is 58, a prime attack line, arguing that a vote for Mr. Biden may in fact be a vote to put her in the Oval Office. ‘That will be in my opinion one of the most hard-hitting arguments against Biden,’ said John Morgan, a prominent fund-raiser for Democrats, including Mr. Biden, and a former Florida finance chairman for President Bill Clinton. ‘It doesn’t take a genius to say, ‘Look, with his age, we have to really think about this.’” See this.
Opinions differ on whether abortion should be legal—in my opinion, this should be left up to the states. But there can be no doubt that abortion is morally wrong. Even brain-dead “President” Biden is on record as saying that he doesn’t like abortion. But Harris is different. She likes abortion: “Beginning in late 2023, Harris has embarked on a national tour to highlight the threats to reproductive rights posed by a second Trump administration – an issue that Biden has been criticized for shying away from. Biden has defended Roe v Wade, but has said he is ‘not big on abortion’. ‘As a woman on the ticket and the first woman VP and a woman of color, and then secondly, as an AG, she is strongest when her profile is fighting and prosecuting the case. People really like her in that mode,’ Celinda Lake, a Democratic party strategist and a lead pollster on the 2020 Biden campaign, told the Guardian in March. ‘She’s so comfortable saying the word ‘abortion’. She’s so comfortable leaning in and speaking to the repercussions.’” See this.
Harris likes to complain that she has been discriminated against because she’s black, but in reality she has again and again benefited from “affirmative action” polices. Mises Institute President Tom DiLorenzo aptly sums up: “Poor Comrade Commie-la. Her career has suffered so, so much because of her dark skin. Just like Obama. Her slave-owning Jamaican ancestors would be so disappointed. Her (retired) Marxist professor father would understand, however. Like father, like daughter. UPDATE: Robert R. writes that the best nickname he’s heard for Commie-la is ‘Pol Pot in a pantsuit.’ Others have suggested “Polly Pot in a pantsuit” and ‘Paula Pot in a pantsuit.’ See here.
Kamala Harris would make a very poor president indeed. This is exactly what we’d expect from a DEI hire.
