California Senator Leland Yee was just indicted for taking money from an undercover FBI agent in exchange for a connection to a radical Muslim arms dealer in the Philippines. He was also found to have connections to a noted Chinese gangster. It was a very public arrest. However, at the time of the arrest, Senator Yee was in the middle of running for Secretary of State in California, and it was too late to pull out. So his name was still on the ballot when Californians went to vote, and guess what? Just about 300,000 Californians still voted for Yee as Secretary of State, despite the fact that he is under federal indictment as an arms dealer. The Resident discusses.
