The investigation into the attempted Trump assassination has hit yet another snag, unsurprising.

As reported by The Blaze, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is suspected to be interfering with the efforts of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) to ascertain exactly what occurred at the fateful Trump rally.

Indeed, Senator Chuck Grassley and Representative Barry Loudermilk sent a rather pointed letter to the “Honorable” Alejandro Mayorkas, making it rather clear that they are quite nervous about blatant DHS interference.

“We write with serious concerns regarding allegations that the Biden-Harris Department of Homeland Security is restricting the DHS Office of Inspector General’s ability to conduct work and provide information to Congress,” Grassley and Loudermilk began.

Throughout the letter, the Republicans detailed how the DHS’s “alleged conduct creates a chilling effect” on the entire investigation, not to mention any other activities that are dependent upon transparency.

In a separate statement, Grassley further illuminated the dangers posed by the DHS in terms of its potential interference.

“The Biden-Harris DHS is keeping its watchdog on a tight leash by imposing unlawful access restrictions and delaying information sharing, which has interfered with DHS OIG’s ability to disclose its full findings to Congress and the American people in a timely manner,” Grassley declared.

“Tight leash” is one of the nicest ways of putting it.

A “total block” is perhaps one of the more accurate ways.

“DHS’ rampant lack of transparency is a disservice to the American taxpayer and highly concerning in light of recent Secret Service-related communication failures,” Grassley added.

Seriously. And those “communication failures” are steadily coming to light now … at least to the extent that they can.

Loudermilk also issued his own statement, in which he echoed Grassley’s concerns.

“I am very concerned that the department would interfere at all regarding what information DHS OIG provides to Congress or what information the DHS OIG can obtain during their investigations,” Loudermilk noted.

Exactly.

After all, some of the concerns pertain to heavily redacted files, which is rather troubling.

Indeed, how can the OIG draw any salient conclusions if over half the information is blacked out?

“The OIG has an independent reporting relationship to Congress. Under no circumstances should the secretary interfere in the Inspector General’s work,” Loudermilk continued.

Absolutely correct.

Then again, the lapses in Secret Service absolutely should not have happened either under any circumstances, yet they did.

It seems that quite a few “lapses” have occurred as far as the attempted Trump assassination is concerned, and it also seems that these “lapses” are likely to continue occurring …

Especially as the media continues to fawn over Queen Kamala.
