Authorities in Central Texas have found an improvised explosive device under a bridge.
The device, described as a bottle filled with flammable liquid and shotgun shells was discovered late Tuesday under the Rosebud Bridge in McLennan County.
It was one of several devices discovered.
After a few hours of trying to break open the bottle, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used a water cannon to breach the bottle.
Law enforcement officials say the I.E.D was designed to blow shrapnel and would have been “extremely dangerous” had it gone off.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and the scene was cleared was cleared Wednesday morning by 1.
Right now, the liquid is being sent to a lab for analysis.
So far, no motive or suspect are known.
