How favoritism just reinstated a lying cop

In 2012, police detective, Gamaliel Cruz, was fired from New Jersey’s Vineland Police Department for misleading a superior court judge in order to obtain a search warrant. As a result, 39 criminal cases were dismissed from the county prosecutor’s office, and many who were facing drug and weapons charges were allowed to walk free. Now, Vineland has a new mayor, who also happens to be a friend of the fired detective’s. Guess what happens next? The Resident discusses.
