Things are getting hot and heavy in the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.

On Wednesday night, Fox News’ Bret Baier breathlessly recounted the latest news from the Clinton investigation and it has to have the Clinton team very worried.

Breaking news tonight — two separate sources with intimate knowledge of the FBI investigations into the Clinton emails and the Clinton Foundation tell Fox the following:
The investigation looking into possible pay-for-play interaction between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Foundation has been going on for more than a year. Led by the white-collar crime division, public corruption branch of the criminal investigative division of the FBI.
The Clinton Foundation investigation is a, quote, “very high priority.” Agents have interviewed and reinterviewed multiple people about the Foundation case, and even before the WikiLeaks dumps, agents say they have collected a great deal of evidence. Pressed on that, one source said, quote, “a lot of it,” and “there is an avalanche of new information coming every day.”

Altogether, Baier reveals five new pieces of information that he’d discovered while digging into what the FBI was doing.

1. The investigation into the Clinton Foundation is much bigger than anyone realizes and it’s been going on for over a year.
2. The FBI had interviewed several people multiple times and will likely interview some again. They also have not destroyed the laptops of Cheryl Mills or Heather Samuelson.
3. The FBI has found emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. Also, some of the emails on the laptop were previously unknown.
4. An indictment is “likely.” BOOM.
5. The FBI believes that Hillary Clinton’s server had been hacked by at least FIVEforeign intelligence agencies!

Later on Wednesday night, the Wall Street Journal reported that the FBI had discovered secret recordings that were causing as much trouble within the FBI as it was for the Clinton Foundation! 

Secret recordings of a suspect talking about the Clinton Foundation fueled an internal battle between FBI agents who wanted to pursue the case and corruption prosecutors who viewed the statements as worthless hearsay, people familiar with the matter said.

Agents, using informants and recordings from unrelated corruption investigations, thought they had found enough material to merit aggressively pursuing the investigation into the foundation…

The public-integrity prosecutors weren’t impressed with the FBI presentation, people familiar with the discussion said. “The message was, ‘We’re done here,’ ” a person familiar with the matter said…

FBI investigators grew increasingly frustrated with resistance from the corruption prosecutors, and some executives at the bureau itself, to keep pursuing the case.

As prosecutors rebuffed their requests to proceed more overtly, those Justice Department officials became more annoyed that the investigators didn’t seem to understand or care about the instructions issued by their own bosses and prosecutors to act discreetly.

In subsequent conversations with the Justice Department, Mr. Capers told officials in Washington that the FBI agents on the case “won’t let it go,” these people said.

The Wall Street Journal’s reporting describes various branches of government investigators all at loggerheads over how to proceed. The FBI smelled a case and wanted to keep pressing until they’d found the truth. Officials from the Department of Justice, whose boss had recently had an impromptu tête-à-tête with Bill Clinton, wanted the FBI to stop digging.

In fact, the Journal concludes their story with this little anecdote, “a senior Justice Department official called the FBI deputy director, Mr. McCabe, on Aug. 12 to say the agents in New York seemed to be disregarding or disobeying their instructions, these people said. The conversation was a tense one, they said, and at one point Mr. McCabe asked, “Are you telling me that I need to shut down a validly predicated investigation?’’ The senior Justice Department official replied: ‘Of course not.’”

Yep, that was a Justice Department official telling the FBI to back off of an investigation that was “validly predicated.”

The FBI has MANY different reasons to be investigating the Clintons and their foundation, but for some reason the Department of Justice keeps stepping in and slowing them down. Why, why would they do that? Could it have anything to do with Loretta Lynch’s close association with the Clinton family and their Foundation? That’s starting to seem more and more likely.
