House Republicans referred Michael Cohen to the Attorney General for perjury in his testimony and have called for an investigation.
Cohen admitted to lying under oath about Trump’s business dealings.
“So you lied under oath in February of 2019? Is that your testimony?” Trump attorney Alina Habba pressed. (Trending: Court Hands Down Crucial 2nd Amendment Ruling)

“Yes,” Cohen responded.
“Mr. Cohen, were you being honest in front of the Permanent Select Committee when you testified on Feb. 28, 2019?” Habba asked. “No,” he answered.
Republicans accused Cohen of making false statements, and they now want the Department to investigate potential charges.
“That Mr. Cohen was willing to openly and brazenly state at trial that he lied to Congress on this specific issue is startling,” the letter read. “His willingness to make such a statement alone should necessitate an investigation.”
They have also heavily criticized the partisan attitude of the New York judge in the case.
“The Biden Justice Department must take off its partisan blinders and investigate disgraced fraudster and disbarred attorney Michael Cohen, a felon previously convicted for lying to Congress, who just admitted to lying again to Congress,” Rep. Elise Stefanik stated.
“Americans are sick and tired of the blatant corruption by radical Leftist judges in NY. All New Yorkers must speak out against the dangerous weaponized lawfare against President Trump.”
Meanwhile, the New York State Attorney General Letitia James has sued the Trump family business, alleging overinflation of property values and fraud, with parts of the business ordered to be dissolved.
