Donald Trump soars over Biden in latest poll

Former President Donald Trump would defeat President Joe Biden in a 2024 election rematch by a stunning four points, according to a new CNBC poll.

Biden’s approval rating has crated to just 37 percent, the poll reported, while his disapproval rating hit 58 percent, an all-time high.

Already unpopular with Republican voters, Biden’s support among even Democrats has plunged.

“You don’t get sub 40 approval ratings without losing large chunks of your base. And that’s what’s happening here,″ Micah Roberts, partner at Public Opinion Strategies, told CNBC.

He said the poll showed “distressing numbers for a president facing reelection.”

In a rematch with Trump, Biden would likely lose the popular vote by 4 points, according to the poll, with 12 percent undecided.

A Republican Party presidential candidate hasn’t won the popular vote since former President George W. Bush’s reelection in 2004. According to the certified results of the 2020 presidential election, Biden won the popular vote by 3.5 percent.

A 7.5 percent swing to Trump would represent an electoral college landslide. It would flip states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and more.
