Democrats are fired up over their hated of President Donald Trump and Republicans, and a political analyst predicts a major fight is brewing.

Political observers were shocked Tuesday night after Rep. Joe Crowley, a longtime Democratic incumbent, was defeated by a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist in New York’s 14th congressional district.

In a left-wing version of swamp draining, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 28, defeated Crowley after campaigning on a platform of free college tuition, universal health care, and abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Tom Pauken, a former chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, says the Democrats appear to be “self-destructing” after they chose a socialist over the Democrat said to be in line to replace Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

“He’s now knocked out by a Bernie Sanders socialist,” Pauken says. “So they have their own problems with the extreme Left clearly winning a few primaries around the country, and that was a key one and a big surprise.”

Pauken made his comments to OneNewsNow hours before Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy (pictured above at Reagan’s announcement) announced his retirement at the end of July.

That announcement sent the Left into a tailspin, predicting that Roe v. Wade is “doomed” and likening the pending confirmation fight to the Spanish Civil War.

“It’s time for you guys to get mean and fight,” MSNBC reporter Nicolle Wallace told Rep. Eric Swalwell, a California Democrat, after Kennedy’s announcement.

“What I worry about,” said Pauken before Kennedy’s announcement, “is the intensity of the Left and the kind of money they’ve got them, and you’ve got all these other leftist organizations that have tons of money.”

There is a “pitched battle” under way, he said, and conservatives better wake up to the fact that the Left doesn’t believe in compromise.
