In fractured country, Left determined it will define ‘unity’ and punish dissenters

Comparing our country’s post-election political climate to an emboldened Nazi regime is a provocative claim but the Left won’t stop openly stating it intends to destroy the Right at the same time the president-elect plans to call for unity.

Katie Couric, the veteran journalist, has added her name to the list of leftists demanding Republicans denounce their views. It is “shocking” that some Republican lawmakers insist the election was stolen from President Trump, she said on “Real Time with Bill Maher” after the profane TV show host suggested freshmen GOP members are “loons.”

During the Biden administration, the biggest targets of the Left will be…(Choose two)

“And the question is,” Couric told Maher, “how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump.”

Dems announce impeachment articlesThat not-so-subtle shot was aimed at elected lawmakers, who are promising to shake up Washington, but it comes after numerous other Leftists are suggesting not-so-prominent Trump supporters must be held accountable for their views.

Trump’s loss to Joe Biden emboldened Democrats, who not only celebrated a win but predicted an angry, crying Donald Trump would be forcibly marched out of the White House. The 74 million voters who chose Trump over Biden have not escaped promises of punishment, either, and that vow to punish them only escalated on Jan. 6 when tens of thousands of Trump supporters marched from the Ellipse and surrounded the U.S. Capitol to voice their anger and to support Trump.

Capitol breach 3 (Jan 2021)Many of those Trump supporters violently fought overwhelmed police officers and entered the hallways and offices, and they are now being called “insurrectionists” by the same Democrats and left-wing media who called Trump an “illegitimate” president, claimed Russia helped him win the White House, and vowed to join a World War 2-like “Resistance” movement to oppose him and defeat him.

After ignoring or defending a summer of riots, arson, and murder, Democrats blamed the violent confrontation on President Trump and used it to push through a second impeachment. House Democrats also wooed some frustrated Republicans to their side, ensuring their 10 House votes further fractured the party, and there is now a push to hold a Senate trial even after Trump officially leaves office, which would fracture the GOP, and the country, even more.

Sen. Mitch McConnell, the powerful Majority Leader, directly blamed President Trump in comments from the Senate floor on Tuesday.

“The mob was fed lies,” he said. “They were provoked by the President and other powerful people.”

“After one right wing riot, the Left impeached Trump, kicked him off social media, sent dozens to federal prison, and instituted a military occupation of DC,” Blaze writer Matt Walsh summarized in a Twitter post. “After hundreds of left wing riots, Republicans frowned disapprovingly and Trump tweeted about law and order.”

Dems: GOP must be punished

Even before Election Day, Berkeley economics professor Robert Reich suggested via Twitter there should be a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” if Trump loses re-election.

What would such a commission do? “It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness,” he wrote, “and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez interviewOne self-described revolutionary who was thinking ahead before Election Day was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (pictured at right), the socialist lawmaker. She asked via Twitter if anyone was “archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future.”

In fact, some people were doing just that. Just three days after Election Day, the Trump Accountability Project was born with the motto, “Remember what they did.”

The group, founded by staffers associated with Pete Buttigieg, vowed to “not allow the following groups of people profit from their experience: Those who elected him. Those who staffed his government. Those who funded him.”

Camenker

Responding to the promises of revenge, conservative activist Brian Camenker tells One News Now that conservatives need to stop dismissing such talk as empty rhetoric.

“They believe that,” he warns. “This is another thing conservatives make a big mistake about: they sort of discount when people say that stuff, but they believe it and they will do it as soon as they can.”

Camenker is accustomed to watching the Left at work. He operates behind enemy lines at his Massachusetts-based MassResistance group, which often finds itself outmanned and outspent in the famously liberal state. He is warning the rest of the country that Democrats were handed a “Reichstag fire” when Trump supporters invaded the Capitol.

"Kill Trump" graffitiAt the MassResistance website, Camenker writes:

Like the Reichstag fire, the incident at the U.S. Capitol is being used as an excuse by government, corporations, and the media to inflame an unprecedented war against conservatives. People who even dare to question the election results are being fired from their jobs across America. Conservative groups of all stripes are being denied service by technology companies. Banks are stopping service to Trump companies and others. The media has become a non-stop propaganda machine, attacking facts they don’t like as “lies.”

An inauguration ringed with troops

With the inauguration of Joe Biden just a day away, the Left appears to be searching for Trump-supporting white supremacists behind every bush, even among the tens of thousands of National Guard troops lining the streets of D.C. who are being screened by the FBI for fears of an “insider attack” despite no evidence of such a threat.

Of the estimated 25,000 troops in the city, the AP reports two National Guard members have been relocated because they have “ties” to a right-wing militia. It was unclear from the story if they were members and what groups they allegedly had ties to.

In what appears like an attempt to defend the screening, U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, a Democrat from West Tennessee, offered CNN a math lesson on the dangers to Biden among those troops who have been deployed.

National Guard in D.C.“The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden,” he said. “You’ve got to figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative … they’re probably not more than 25 percent of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden.”

That leaves approximately 75 percent of the troops, he said, who “might want to do something.”

Responding to the congressman’s accusation, Federalist writer Chad Felix Greene said Rep. Cohen’s comments reveal the “simplistic thinking” of the Left which reduces people to skin color, sex, and social class.

“Their deeply rooted hatred for Republicans,” Greene summarized on Twitter, “only validates their shallow and stereotypical bigotry.”

Rachel Maddow Trump-Russia showTalking to Fox News, Washington Times opinion editor Charles Hurt said Couric’s comments about “deprogramming” is quite the accusation after Democrats and the media pushed Russian conspiracy theories for four years.

“That is the most dangerous language I’ve ever heard in American politics,” he said.

After promising before Election Day to punish right-wing dissenters, Rep. Ocazio-Cortez suggested the need for “media literacy” after American voters were misinformed by some media sources during the presidential campaign.

“And we’re going to have to figure out how to rein in our media environment,” she said during a live stream,” so that you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation.”

It appears CNN, the cable news channel, is working on shutting down that dissent, too. The cable network’s media reporter admitted in a Jan. 17 tweet that CNN is pressuring cable providers Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast to defend why they provide customers with One American News and Newsmax, two conservative news outlets that are growing in audience, when those news organizations allow what CNN calls “election denialism.”

Camenker, still comparing today’s political climate to the Reichstag fire, points out another similarity: the so-called Brown Shirts who harassed Jews, destroyed their businesses, and were basically thugs recruited as street muscle went unpunished by authorities. He compares that scenario to violent protesters who have joined Black Lives Matter and Antifa, and whose arson, assaults, harassment, and looting have been ignored or defended by Democrats and the liberal media.

Nazi book burningIn a Twitter post predicting what is coming, radio show host Jesse Kelly warned his followers about what he calls “The System,” which is the entrenched D.C. politicians who did not welcome President Trump and ensured he would only serve one term after upsetting their political world.

“The System is about to criminalize opposition to it,” he warns, “and you still have people on the Right who think Trump and his supporters are the problem.”
