Tariq Khan, a teacher at the University of Illinois who was protesting the Trump presidency, was arrested after he threatened and then assaulted another student for saying to him: “Don’t you have something else to do? Don’t you have kids?” In response, Khan pretended that this statement was a threat against his children, which he then used as justification for his violence. Khan teaches classes titled ‘Constructing Race in America’ and ‘US Gender History’, and has ties to Antifa, a violent, pro-communist group. -GEG

Tariq Khan is a PhD candidate at the university and has taught courses such as “Constructing Race in America” and “U.S. Gender History since 1877.” He is also involved with various anarchist and communist organizations including Black Rose Anarchist Federation and Antifa, in addition to working with the undergraduate socialist students.
