In the final days of the midterm election Democrats tried a Hail Mary play.

The winning hand Democrats thought they held collapsed.

And Trey Gowdy hit Democrats with a reality check that will make you stand up and cheer.

Democrats hoped that police arresting an illegal alien for battering Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul in the head with a hammer would amplify the party’s message that MAGA Republicans stoke extremism and are a threat to American democracy.

The corporate media certainly tried to assist that effort as polls showed the floor falling out from underneath Democrats because of Joe Biden’s failed record on inflation, crime and the border.

On his Sunday night show Trey Gowdy discussed the disturbing rise in political violence.

But as Gowdy pointed out liberals committed some of the worst acts of violence against political figures.

A Joe Biden supporter traveled to Maryland and attempted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to try and stop the conservative majority from overturning Roe v. Wade.

And in 2017 a Bernie Sanders supporter immersed himself in the media’s lies about Russiagate and the GOP’s attempt to repeal Obamacare and tried to murder GOP members of Congress at a baseball practice.

“It’s become a recurring theme in American politics. Political violence and threats to violence are increasing,” Gowdy told viewers. “Elected officials have been shot at community meetings and on charity baseball fields. The children and spouses of federal judges have been shot in their homes, Supreme Court justices have been targeted for assassination, mobs have chanted ‘hang the vice president,’ people are accosted in restaurants and lobbies of their workplace, and now an attack on a family member in his home.”

Gowdy said only a tiny fringe of Americans resorted to violence, but that even one act of political violence was unacceptable.

“For the overwhelming majority of us, the only weapons we would ever use in political discourse are the power of persuasion and right to vote. But there is that small group, so detached to reason or reality, so untethered to decency or morality that they would believe themselves justified to use violence,” Gowdy added.

Gowdy said it was up to politicians to try and lower the temperature by defending officials on the other side of the aisle.

“And while we know crazy people are listening, perhaps we should say fewer crazy things. And we should have a plan, a plan beyond simply investigating and prosecuting in the aftermath. We should do more than simply react after something violent and horrific happens. It takes no political courage to defend friends. The question is whether we have the political courage to defend, physically defend those with whom we disagree,” Gowdy continued.

Gowdy’s comments were a rebuke of Democrats like Joe Biden.

When liberal mobs terrorized conservative justices at their homes following a leak of the opinion overturning Roe v. Wade the Biden administration cheered on the protests despite the fact that demonstrations violated federal law.

And Joe Biden noticeably refused to personally condemn the attempt on Kavanaugh’s life.

There is a political violence problem in America.

And it mainly resides on the left.
