Details are still emerging from this morning’s mass shooting in southern Ohio – and they’re horribly tragic.
Fox News reports at least seven family members, five of them children, were killed. One of the children was just 5 days old and another was 6 months old, a Pike County official told the Chillicothe Gazette.
The seven victims were killed in three different crime scenes. There is still no word on the whereabouts of the shooter, but Adams County Ohio Valley Schools went on lockdown.
Governor John Kasich posted this tweet earlier today.
Reports we are receiving from Peebles are tragic beyond comprehension. -John 1/2 https://t.co/ez69UUXVdM

In the video below, Pike County prosecutor’s victims advocate Dave Dickerson indicates there were possibly two children who survived the shootings and have been taken to the hospital for care. He said grandfathers, fathers, mothers, aunts and uncles are all gathered at a nearby church where he is providing counseling.

Given the tragic nature of this event, I think he’ll probably need some counseling as well afterwards. How does one find the words to comfort the victims’ families, except through faith?
