Is Socialism the Future of America?

“Socialism, reduced to its simplest legal and practical expression, means the complete discarding of the institution of private property by transforming it into public property, and the division of the resultant public income equally and indiscriminately among the entire population.”~ George Bernard Shaw

Talk of socialism in America in the past was mostly relegated to historical conversations, academia, and certain populist movements, but aspiring politicians and elites today pretend to promote this ideology openly and with pride. This change in attitude is ignored by many, but is a significant transition. In order for this phenomenon to take root, a general sense of despair and envy among the people must be evident. The psychological mindset necessary for the acceptance of socialism is one ripe for exploitation, and if truly advanced would rock the foundation of elite power. But is that likely? I think not.

The current political movement toward more socialism is gaining support, and seems to have turned the corner toward general political acceptance. Consider some of the most talked about political figures that are gaining popularity in advance of another election cycle; those like Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and others. They are causing a stir. While they do not control the Democratic Party per se, they have affected a major change in stance due to their popularity and media coverage. This is telling and scary. The entire political narrative is changing with only the combined efforts of a few people and a complicit media.

Consider the substantial shift from past core family values and common morality norms that now have all but disappeared, and the purposeful isolating of all ethnic differences. This is the result of postmodern thinking and multiculturalism. It is agenda driven nonsense that has been forced down the throats of the weak masses through a fear of being labeled. The driving force of this change has been accomplished by threats and violence. Instead of standing against this onslaught of depravity and divisiveness, widespread apathy has only increased its presence.

As far as politics are concerned, the Republicans are no better than the Democrats, and certainly worse considering their support of the military industrial complex, and its warmongering assault on mankind worldwide. Socialist policy, war, corporatism, government expansion, and increased regulation and restriction in this day and age are not foreign to either political party. The only difference in red and blue nowadays is at the margin. Supporting either side is detrimental to liberty, but a major shift toward more socialism would further destroy the moral and economic fabric of society.

Vast numbers of Americans have grown to accept the asinine idea of “equality of outcome.” This concept is that of pure socialism, and is not only a false assumption, but also an outright lie. The so-called nirvana sought by the confused general population, one of equality for all, has not and cannot be achieved. In reality, that would never be the objective sought by those constructing and controlling the movement. The idea of true equality could only be achieved if all were at the same level. Those in power who seek to implement this system do not want that for themselves, they only want it for the commoners. The leaders are never willing to give up their property, only that of the masses. Social engineers, mostly politicians and elites, are the epitome of hypocrisy, and will never seek to be equal to the proletariat. This fact always escapes the scrutiny of the lowly followers until it is too late to remedy.

What is happening in this country currently is unlike anything seen before. Many will attempt to compare today’s situation to those of the past century, especially politically, and will gloss over the unique risk inherent in these troubled times. Today’s problems are more numerous, and very multifaceted in nature. In addition, and of the utmost importance, the division among the population at large is extensive, and the moral breakdown of society has reached previously unknown heights. These conditions could give rise to scenarios completely overlooked by those attempting to analyze future political upheaval. This climate created by fiat could prove to be disastrous.

Many prognosticators are attempting to evaluate the political future of America without taking into consideration the profound differences that are evident in the psychological mentality of the general population. They also tend to ignore the outrageous behavioral changes evident today. Not only have people changed dramatically, the dangerous economic situation created by debt expansion has grown out of control. Returning to any sort of normalcy at this stage seems farfetched, especially anytime soon.

So, is socialism the future of America? No, that is not possible in this writer’s view. What is being advocated boils down to what is falsely being described as a “Democratic Socialist Welfare State,” not pure socialism. The real agenda is actually based on continued fascism with socialistic elements meant to appease and hold down the common man. It is not meant to destroy the corporate state, or eliminate government power, as that is the backbone of this corrupt oligarchy.

There will be no utopia, and with the continuation and expansion of the current political and economic direction, there will eventually be chaos and conflict far beyond what is predicted. In fact, given the probability of financial ruin, of unending military aggression, of the substantial risk of nuclear warfare, and of continuing socialistic policies, civil unrest or worse could occur in the near future. Is this the best we can do?
